WHO IS REBECCA?
Rebecca Spera is an Emmy Award-Winning TV Reporter and Producer, and while her success in the TV industry started in her twenties, her dreams of informing, entertaining, and making a difference in the lives of viewers started when she was just a little girl. Instead of watching cartoons while she waited for the school bus, Rebecca viewed Good Morning America each morning and repeated whatever Joan Lunden would say during the newscast. Then, when she’d return home from school, she tuned into Oprah, took notes, and wrote letters to Oprah critiquing the shows, along with sending in her own ideas. She still has a stack of Oprah’s response letters as keepsakes!
When Rebecca announced to family and friends she’d be majoring in Communications and would be pursuing a career in television, it was no surprise to those who knew her. She graduated from La Salle University in 2003, interned at CNN in New York City, and then shortly after found herself in the Lonestar State.
She started her full-time TV career at KHOU-TV in Houston, Texas, as a producer for the live morning talk show, Great Day Houston. There, Rebecca learned that multi-tasking, quick thinking, and always being creative were the keys to success in a live talk show format. She quickly promoted to Producer/Reporter in 2007, and in early 2009, she used her talents to land a hosting and producing gig at KTRK-TV in Houston.
That gig was Mirror/Mirror. It was a magazine format TV show that aired on KTRK-TV and on the Live Well Network in more than 70 cities. That is where Rebecca realized her passion wasn’t just TV, it was helping women look and feel their best through beauty, fashion, fitness, and nutrition stories. For Rebecca, boosting the confidence in women and communicating with her dear viewers through letters and social media was the most rewarding “job” she’s ever had. After six seasons, Mirror/Mirror abruptly came to an end, and Rebecca took a job doing traffic at KTRK-TV in 2014. Ultimately, Rebecca knew the position wasn’t for her, so in 2018, when her contract came to a close, she decided to leave KTRK-TV as a full-time employee. However, because of her strong ties with many at the station, Rebecca continued working in a free-lance role, and signed on as the Host of H-town Spotlight in December of 2018.
Rebecca heard a quote that propelled her to build her own businesses. That quote is, “Save your best dreams for when you’re wide awake.” So, in her late thirties, Rebecca started dreaming again. Today, Rebecca works as a Media Consultant and Beauty Expert. She is also a Wellness Coach for her Arbonne business. Because Rebecca has always been transparent with her viewers and followers, she only works with products, people, and places that she uses and believes in, and she finally gets to help others look, feel, and be their best once again.
Her new career allows her to have the flexibility necessary to be the wife and mom she wants to be to her husband, Eric, and boys, Gray and Dean. Being a wife and boy mom also gives her a whole new level of insight on how to look good, feel good, and actually show up on time looking and feeling good! Every chapter is a learning lesson, right?
We all have one life, and we have to live it on purpose and for a purpose. Rebecca finally found hers.
